Small pink quilts – Tickled Pink bloghop

Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome to my stop on the Tickled Pink blog hop organized by Carla of Creatin’ In The Sticks. I will be sharing three small quilts that have pink in them. Coincidentally, I finished them all in the last two months though the quilt tops were done several months/years ago.

First up is the Spiral Nova. This was my very first Spiral Nova quilt that I used to write this free tutorial almost four years ago! For no particular reason, it stayed unquited all these years. I managed to quilt it last month and gifted it to a much-loved elderly woman who has known my husband since he was a boy. It measures 44″ square and will make a nice lap quilt. I quilted straight lines in the background and some swirls and feathers in the center.

Next is a quilt I made last year for the designers block challenge. The challenge was to reimagine the traditional Rail Fence block and create something new. I added a folded corner triangle at each end of the rail fences and turned it into a flower! I call it rail fence flowers. I quilted swirls, feathers, random designs all over and had fun doing it!

This is a smaller version of my pattern Wildflowers in the Meadow. I made a quilt and wrote the pattern last year but did not release it because I had too many things going on at that time. I plan to get the pattern edited, tested and released sometime this year. This is the baby version and measures 40″ x 48″. It will be gifted to a baby girl who was born in January. I need to find a way to get it to her soon. With Covid still hanging around, it has been hard to meet and greet little ones safely.

Your Spiral Nova is fabulous and I hope one day to make one. Love the Rail Fence Flowers. I like the use of triangle in a square units on your Wildflowers in a Meadow to create flowers and leaves. Thanks for inspiring.

All of your pink quilts are wonderful though Spiral Nova is my favorite. I can see by your quilting that you are very skilled. Completing a UFO is always fulfilling.
